Deep Currents
Deep Currents is a 5 movement audiovisual art piece (a true collaboration between Seaux Chill & David McKissic) celebrating the past, present, and future of Black Indianapolis. The project specifically looks at the stretch from Martindale-Brightwood to Riverside, but ultimately includes aspects from all over the city. The work is one of 5 projects throughout the Midwest that were awarded by The Joyce Foundation in 2022 as part of their “Joyce Awards” initiative est. 1948.
The project was hosted by Harrison Center and was presented to the Indianapolis community through partnership with GANG GANG, BLACK: A Festival of Joy, and the Madam Walker Legacy Center
